Recording vocals in reason is something most are baffled with so we of course cover this in our videos. The vocoder and autotune is the most sought after and this is why we review these subjects. We show how to rewire from protools and how we setup redrum to break each track down into separate channels on the mixing console SSL board. Recording audio and samples are a prize making it so easy to record a rap artist over a rap beat.

Not only do we serve you how to amp up hip hop beats, house and techno music, we also show you where to dig deep house projects as well as drum and bass so that you can produce great demo songs. “Kong” and “Dr Octo Rex” is a life saver for many including myself. I’m now able to add realistic drum rolls and real bass sounds with audio ambiance of real rooms with real and true eq. I’ve been recently digging also into the orchestra sections. Although the external midi is not much use to us right now we have not left it out altogether. New features and overview of Reason is amazing! Sampling a song using the sequencer has allowed me to pinpoint the direction of how my song is edited. I’m now able to setup my sequencer and program my synth to perfection! And with plugins like the wonderful Softube amps and compressors, all of my sounds simply sound industry standard.

USSRS-AMP-FIDDLER-TRICK-TRICK-TERRENCE-FLEMING-TOP-BEST-HIP-HOP-AND-R&B-PRODUCER-IN-DETROIT-HELLUVA-TEAM-HOPE

United Sound Systems Recording Studios, on 5840 Second, in Detroit has been reborn!

Why is this news so significant? Well I’ll tell you. You’ve all heard of Motown right? Berry Gordy? Marvin Gaye, The Supremes, Diana Ross, The Temptations, George Clinton, The Parliament, Funkadelic, Bootsy Collins and many many others? If you know them you can then begin to appreciate the significance of a recording studio named United Sounds. I’m sure, you may have all heard of Abbey Roads? When you think of Abby Roads, you instantly think of the Beatles. Well, the same thing when it comes to United Sounds, the only difference, is that you think of 100’s more stars than just “The Beatles”, you think of Aretha Franklin, Anita Baker, The Rolling Stones, George Clinton and hundreds more!

TOP 10 HIP HOP PRODUCERS IN DETROIT

Detroit Hip Hop Producers: J Dilla

Top 10 Hip Hop Producers In Detroit: J Dilla

J Dilla! What can be said about J Dilla? Well apparently a whole lot! Enough to make several documentaries, but we will just stick to a small insert of him and his contribution to hip hop production. See the reason why J Dilla is first on this list is because he not only was a good producer, hip hop producer, but he was an innovator of a new hip hop genre. Ironically something what we might call true “hip hop” and the irony is that he’s from Detroit! Not New York!!! Now the crazy part is that Detroit have always had this certain type of swag. A proud swag if you will, (cocky), (and conceited), proud for lack of better words and we cared nothing of anyone else, or what they were doing. We were so OK with what we were doing and who we were that others across the globe started to catch on. They liked our swag, style and approach at not only music but mentality and life! J Dilla emphasized on that sloppy human error, layed back swag, and that was Detroit! We are a proud city of musicians, and our dignity took presidence over anything else, that’s why it was soooo hard for us to make it in the industry. There is a whole lot of selling out and Detroiters, true Detroit natives found it hard to walk over values and morals. Yes, even the killers of Detroit have values, believe it our not! Well J Dilla music reflected that and that’s why he’s on this list for Detroit’s greatest producers!

Detroit Hip Hop Producers: Detail

Top 10 Hip Hop Producers In Detroit: Detail

Detail is on our list because of obvious reasons. He’s great! No, he’s not a great producer because of hype, “Detail” is a great producer because of his diversity. It’s not easy to make it in this industry with just one style. (Although you can make a good living), it’s only so far you can go, and only a select few will take your production seriously. But “Detail”? This hip hop producer from Detroit shows it all! See this is the true new definition of Motown 2.0! Detail has the type of production style of an intellect! Much more than talent, you must understand the dynamics of the human psychology. You have to know music theory, and you have to know how to get people’s wheels spinning. Detail is the reason why people across the globe fell into a new type of love with Lil Wayne! With the production of “How To Love”, more people where able to learn about Lil Wayne, and more people was able to except him as a mainstream artist! We can go on and on why he’s a true Detroit representative of the modern Hip Hop producer, but we will be here for a long time. Now our next producer on this list is a very close friend and prodigey of Detail, and that’s Hell, better known as Helluva, or #Helluva313.

Top 10 Hip Hop Producers In Detroit: Helluva

HELLUVA-313 TEAM HOPE DETROIT PRODUCER ZAY STACKS VITO LAY ICEWEAR VEZZO

Top 10 Hip Hop Producers In Detroit: Helluva (@Helluva313)

What can we say about Hell? (#313Helluva) He’s known as Detroit’s very own Super Producer Song Writer and he’s certainly earned the title! Hell been producing hits since way back and he’s only got more fine like wine with time. He’s produced 100’s if not 1000’s of local artists in Detroit as well as well known music industry veterans. from Yo Gotti, Rick Ross, Future, Doughboyz Cashout, DustyMcFly, and even Pinky just to name a few. Helluvas range of production stems from hip hop to trap and R&B. He’s well known for his very edgy street sound and this is one of the primary reason the celbrities of the music industry reach out to Hell. Helluva has a strong team behind him as well as a strong team he produces. TEAM HOPE is the team he has under his wings and this consist of his son Coach Zay, Vito Lays, Most Wanted, Bop S.E.E.D, Stacks and a host of other extremely talented artist.

Like the Big Homie Trick Trick, Helluva is like the Mayor of producers from Detroit, he’s just the go to guy for beats, even if you wanted a beat from someone else, he’s like the Godfather, it has to go through Hell first, if Hell validates the track, then it gets sold. But Hell don’t hold his power like a tyrant, he’s like a gentle giant when it comes to supporting his city his artist and his fellow producers. If you got heat, he won’t hate, he shares the stage with his brethren, and he looks for ways to get you involved. If you got production but it needs assistance, he works with you until your material can be sold.

You can’t get no better than that and that’s why Helluva313 is included in our lists of top hip hop producers in detroit.

Detroit Hip Hop Producers: Paul Hill

Detroit Hip Hop Producers: Paul Hill

Paul Hill, well to be honest, he’s simply much more than a hip hop producer, he’s an overall producer. His style ranges all over the place, but let us give you a little background history on Paul Hill.

Paul Hill was born and raised in Detroit. The home of Motown and the birth of the car industry. Raised on the east gritty side of Detroit. He lived near the Brewster projects where the Diana Ross and The Supremes were founded. he’s the son of five and he was a momma’s boy, he deeply loved his mom! She was his inspiration to all things especially music. His sound is gritty, gutsy and soulful, natural and organic. He loves the digital added sound just as long as it don’t interfere with his goal to move your soul. He get this flavor and inspiration from Detroit’s musical history. he produced most of his first songs at the legendary United Sound System Recording Studios in Detroit where George Clinton, P-Funk, Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin and 100’s of others has produced and recorded. This upbringing helped to brand his sound, digital analog was funk, a mixture of intelligent mixing engineers along with free soul’d singers and funky fun musicians molded the earlier sounds of Detroit & Motown and when it was created Paul Hill was right dab smack in the middle of it.

Once in an interview Paul quoted “my inspiration draws me! I’m inspired by everything that lives and breathes. Lyrics and music are my inspiration. Everything I write about has already been written, mine is just my interpretation and another variable of my own expression of it.”

Paul gets his style and flavor from The Motown Sound, emerged with Gamble and Huff, George Clinton of course and Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis just to name a few. Paul also acknowledges and have deep respect for the late J.Dilla who is one of Paul’s favorite producers, along with Terrence Fleming and Jupyter. Ironically J Dilla was discovered by one of Paul’s best friends in life and in music Amp Fiddler.

Paul Hill has been chosen as Detroit’s top producers because of his contribution to the music industry. If it wasn’t for Paul, a lot of what you hear on the radio today and yesterday would not have been heard. He discovered legendary well known producers Tim and Bob, and he’s worked on 100’s of projects, to many to name in one setting. He’s like a ghost, quiet, silent but deadly. Incognito and mysterious with his moves. If you do the research, you’ll find that Paul hill has worked with Legends such as Holland Dozier Holland, and silently worked with Biv from Bell Biv DeVoe, produced projects all over the globe, including Africa, and that’s just to name a very small few. Paul has been on the road with P-Funk, off and on, since 1989 and steadily since 1995. He recorded the hit single “Saturday Love” with Alexander O’Neil and performed on the Hearsay Tour in 88-89. He was also involved with the hit “Gettin It” and is involved with the Just Clever project for Biv 10, Michael Bivens label. If we did not consider Paul as one of Detroit’s top producers, we deprived you of greatness!

Make Your Own Rap Instrumentals | Kendrick Lamar “To Pimp A Butterfly” Type Beats Hip Hop Production Instrumental

This Kendrick Lamar beat was inspired by “TO PIMP A BUTTERFLY” album. These type of beats mesmerize me! I listened to it and a review is coming! To summarize what I heard? Two words, “THANKS LAMAR!” It knocked me away, it’s so much to say about The album, the beats, the lyrics, the message, the context, Lamar to me is the new “something” of our time, and I will have better words to describe how his recent move he made towards this album, but personally, I’m grateful.

To Pimp A Butterfly, first of all the rap beats sounds like nothing out there! The production is powerful, not much truly inspires me to make beats, but this album did just so. But what I really truly enjoy is the album to me personally is so diverse, that it brings the spirit of true gritty hip hop production back onto the scene, and what I really find truly ironic, is that the boy is from Compton, ironic how a west coast rapper gets a pass to reintroduce true hip hop back to the scene. And what I mean about hip hop is not just the sound, but the idea to do freely what you truly want to do in your heart and not appeal to what the labels, or the streets tell you what you should do, that’ is the hip hop I remember, and that’s what initially brought me into the game.

If you like this beat and would like to use it, go over to http://www.todaysbeats.com, signup for a free account and you will have access to the free downloads page, thanks for listening subscribing and sharing.
